Africa’s Grandest Gathering fuelled by South Africa’s favourite petrol brand
Cape Town – Engen has announced that it has entered into a three-year partnership with the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) as the event’s “Official Fuel” sponsor.

Engen, which has been voted South Africa’s favourite petrol station for eight consecutive years in the Sunday Times Top Brands, are thrilled to be joining the CTIJF sponsor family.

Comments Bulela Mkandawire, Engen Brand and Sponsorship Manager: “It gives us great pleasure to be partnering with the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. We hope to build on our relationship over the next 3 years with the aim of offering a premium hospitality experience for our stakeholders and customers as well as appeal to a different audience outside of the traditional sport sponsorship space.”

Dubbed Africa’s Grandest Gathering and set to take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, with an iconic Table Mountain as the backdrop, this world-renowned event celebrates its 20th edition in 2019.
“This year’s festival promises to deliver a phenomenal festival having already released a stellar line up of artists from around the globe,” adds Mkandawire.

International and local artists have already been announced including ten-time Grammy Award winner and Queen of Funk, Chaka Khan (USA); multiple award-winning jazz pianist, Eliane Elias (Brazil); multi-instrumentalist, neo-soul group Moonchild (USA); South Africa’s first all-female big band, The Lady Day Big Band (SA); local sensation, singer/ songwriter Shekhinah (SA); and many more.

“It is with great pride that we welcome Engen to the Cape Town International Jazz Festival family. This three-year partnership will fuel the festival and the creative industry on the whole,” commented CTIJF Festival Director, Billy Domingo.
