CTIJF recognised the lack of formal discussions in the music industry, and aimed to create a platform for industry stakeholders to address and learn more about the business of music. Over the last 8 years the music business programme has addressed from a creative and a business perspective, the contemporary state of the music industry, both in SA and the world, and has suggested ways and means of addressing the future of the industry. This is an exciting workshop that appeals to emerging artists, professional artists and members of the public who feel passionate about this industry. It is a platform where people can gain and share knowledge. Topics such as intellectual property rights are dissected and debated. It is through workshops such as these that South Africa is becoming one of the fastest growing music industries and it is in these environments that artists and those in the music industry can gain valuable skills.
