THANK YOU'S

  • My Dear Soul Brother Rashid, I would love to get some words to translate what we feel with your support, your warmth and your great kindness when we reach this fabulous city that is Cape Town, which every year organises the biggest musical - and human- event of the continent, where all jazz lovers can forget the difficulties of everyday life and this world so unfair sometimes. I do hope that you may live long enough to continue to elevate our beloved music and please forward to Billy and your very professional team our deep gratitude. • I would like to use this medium to express my profound gratitude to you and the entire staff of espAfrika for the opportunity to perform at the just ended Cape Town International Jazz Festival. It was an honour for me to be part of this year’s event. I commend you for putting up a spectacular event, every part of the arrangement, planning and execution was breathtaking and I wish you all the best in future events. Performing on the “Rosies” stage was indeed prestigious for me as a Jazz Singer, this was evident in great reviews from numerous quarters especially the Deputy President-Kgalema Motlanthe, the media, etc. all thanks to you and your team. As first time performer of this prestigious event, I look forward to more inclusions in the coming years. Once again, I greatly appreciate the opportunity and thank you. WELL DONE! Sonti Music
  • Dear Billy and Rashid, On behalf of Andrea, the Lalela Project Team and all the students we would like to say THANK YOU to you and your team for once again supporting our project!!! We appreciate the patience, support and hard work that has gone into making it possible for Lalela Project to be part of this amazing event! Zimasa and Athenkosi has learned so much from the skills development programme and we are going to make use of their skills by involving them in our events management! Our younger children had a wonderful time at the Gig for Kids and as always the 35 students that attended the free concert had a rocking time!! It's such a privilege to share the joy of music with them. Thank you to Billy for a very successful Golf Day auction. Through the contribution we are now able to employ Siyolisi, a former student, full time and allow him to attend art training throughout the year to prepare him to attend UCT Art school at Mikaelis next year and pay part of his tuition fees! Thank you, thank you!! Kind regards Cat Rieper COO Lalela Project Hout Bay
  • Hi Rashid, Nice bumping into you very briefly on Friday. Rashid, I just wanted to thank you personally again for what you and ESP do each year - put on a fantastic festival jazz festival. But more than that - the respect and way we are looked after as musicians is really second to none. From the greeting at the airport, to the taxi to the hotel, the greeting at the hotel, the way we are treated is really exceptional. NO OTHER promoter or event company looks after us the way ESP does. I know you don't have to do this (The catering and drinks in the dressing rooms), but you do, and I know this comes down all the production line from you. This is what makes the festival not only the highlight of many a audience member, but also for every musician in SA. And I feel blessed to have played with Mafikozolo, Thandiswa and Sonti this year. In fact I think I have played at 8 festivals now (it's all a fabulous blur now!!!!!) I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU.... Warmest regards, Adam Howard/ Musician

Have a good rest, you've deserved it!! Thanks again Anne-Sophie Ben Sharpa & Pure Solid
